Are we obedient or disobedient to the Vision? What/Who is the Vision? What is the source? What is the price for obedience to the Vision? What is the reward?

Acts 26:20, Acts 20:20-21. 27  The obedience

2 Corinthians 4:7-12, 2 Corinthians 11:23-27 The price

2 Timothy 4:8  The reward

Today’s church

I’m sounding the trumpet! Today’s church is quite unrecognizable by Christ and by Paul.

We cast vision like the business world (I quote from church growth experts):

— “As leaders, you must be firmly convinced before you can sell it to others!”

(God laughs us to scorn, because no one is convinced until they encounter Jesus personally and intimately. Then they know He’s real and you don’t need to sell them anything. No more pleading when the Holy Spirit is leading!)

— During the Reformation, “words” that expressed their vision “galvanized and motivated the people in the proper direction for the church to go.”

(God laughs us to scorn, because it is He who galvanizes and motivates, not words. We must be filled in order to be galvanized and motivated to do “God works.”)

— “Vision gives the motivation and the momentum for the equipping ministry of the church.”

(God laughs us to scorn, because there is only one Vision, and that is the Father and the Son. We are to follow in the Son’s footsteps, doing what we see the Father doing and saying what we hear Him saying.)

AND . . . .

To equip, in Ephesians 4:12, is to perfect, to completely furnish.

Equipping means being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Paul alludes to it in the very next verse, so we might understand what he means by “equipping.”

When equipped by being filled, the saints WILL work “God works.”

Truth is in order:

When we are filled with the Spirit,
there is no need to try to figure out “why are we here?”
or “We exist in order to . . .”
We know why we are here.

When we are filled with the Spirit,
we don’t need a vision statement to tell us that we are to reach
“every home in this community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.”             Evangelism is as natural to us as breathing.

When we are filled with the Spirit,
we don’t need “non-negotiable characteristics of an organization,
it’s heart and soul.”
Christ IS IN our hearts!
He has purified them
so we love God’s law and follow it  and have Christ’s mind.

We desire what God desires.
We delight to do the will of God,
and we ourselves ARE His will.

When we are filled with the Spirit,
we do not need to form
“strategy (which) is the plan for accomplishing the vision.”

Christ is our Vision, and when we are obedient to Him,
He uses us as His vessels for accomplishing all He wants to do.         We do not tell Him what we will do for Him,
but He tells us what to do, moment to moment,
just as He did with the Father
when He walked the earth.

When we are filled with the Spirit,
we do not need “specific, measurable and dated” goals.
We press on toward the goal
of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).

The church’s leaders have warped,
watered down and
willfully walked away from
the whole truth the gospel,
in order to please congregations.

Here’s the whole truth, dear ones:

Your sinful heart must be replaced by a heart that follows God.

You must be inwardly purified by the Refiner, Jesus Christ.
Christ must reign in your human heart.

The Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit, must possess you.

THEN, you will be His yielded vesses through which He manifests Himself and brings many sons to glory.

O Church that has warped
and watered down
and willfully walked away,
it is not too late for you to turn
from your foolish ways and return to God!

God the Father is here today to receive His wayward ones!

Church leaders, do you want to please God?

Then stop trying to fill your pews by using business practices.

Instead, EXHORT MOST HEARTILY the ones in your pews to be be filled!
